How to Enable Programmatic Ads
With Captivate’s Programmatic Ads platform, it’s never been easier to earn money from your podcast via automated ads. Simply set up what ad slots you’re offering, and let Captivate do the rest.
Note: you’ll need to have connected and enabled Stripe for payment - if you haven’t already done this, you can set Stripe up here.
- log in to your Captivate dashboard
- on the left hand menu, click Programmatic (under Monetization)
- review the Programmatic Ads overview (what they are, how they work, etc) and then click Enable Programmatic
- review the terms and conditions, and then check the “I have read, understood, and agree” disclaimer
- click Yes
This will take you to your Programmatic Ads settings. Here, you can choose which ad slots to be offered (pre roll, mid roll, post roll) as well as which categories you want to block. This ensures only ads relevant to your audience are added to your episodes.
To make it even easier we’ve created some category presets, that will block the most commonly blocked tags, as well as child-safe, family-friendly, and faith-friendly categories. You can also add and remove any categories manually at any time.
Once complete, click Save Programmatic Ad Settings, and you’re done - your podcast is now enabled for ads to be automatically inserted into the ad slots you make available for them.
Note: Programmatic Ads is a beta release in the US initially, with more countries to follow in due course.
