You API credentials are a secure set of keys that give other apps and platforms a way to talk to Captivate and to perform various tasks within your Captivate account, such as publishing or editing episodes, for example.
As an example, you may want to connect online podcast editing tools such as Alitu to your account for one-click publishing and your API details will be requested by any app that you do connect.
Your credentials consist of two pieces of information:
User ID
API Key
Think of these almost like a username and a password. They're exceptionally secure and can't be used by humans to log in to any account.
To access your API credentials:
Log in to your Captivate dashboard
Click on your name in the top right hand corner
Click "My Account"
On the left hand side of your account, click "API key"
From there, you can easily copy and paste both your User ID and your API Key into other apps you'd like to connect to Captivate.
