When it comes to making it easier to add ads or dynamic content to your podcast episodes, having default pre-roll and post-roll makes everything so much quicker.

Thanks to AMIE’s default pre- and post-roll options, you can now add up to three dynamic content slots to play after each other at the start or end of your episode - perfect for multi-sponsor messages.

Just follow the steps below to set up your default dynamic content!

Creating your default pre-roll and post-roll ads from your content library

  • Log in to Captivate

  • Click on Podcast Settings in the left hand menu

  • Under the AMIE & DAX tab, click either Add Pre-Roll Ad or Add Post-Roll Ad

  • Choose up to three ads you want to add from your Captivate content library

  • Click Confirm Selected Files once you’ve chosen what ad(s) you want to add

  • Repeat this step if you’re also adding post-roll ads

  • Once completed, click Save and Update

That’s it! These ads will now be loaded as your default pre-roll or post-roll content every time you publish a new episode.

Note: these defaults will only be for episodes created after the defaults are loaded. For episodes prior to that, use the Bulk Ad Editor to set defaults for older content.

Replacing or deleting default ads

If you ever need to replace old default ads with new ones, or delete them altogether, that’s super simple to do, too!

  • Log in to Captivate

  • Click on Podcast Settings in the left hand menu

  • Under the AMIE & DAX tab, choose which ads you want to replace or delete

  • To replace an ad, click the replace icon next to the little trash bin icon

  • Choose your new ad from the Replace Content box

  • Click Save and Update

To delete an ad completely, simply follow these steps:

  • click the trash bin icon next to the file in question

  • click Remove Content

  • click Save and Update

Note: these defaults will only be for episodes created after the defaults are loaded. For episodes prior to that, use the Bulk Ad Editor to swap out older content.
