How to Accept a Marketplace Campaign Offer for Your Podcast

With Captivate Marketplace and Campaign Management, you can work directly with advertisers and sponsors looking to run ads on your podcast. Here’s how to accept a campaign offer.

Note: this requires Stripe and our Campaign Management feature to be enabled on your podcast - you can find details here on how to connect Stripe, and how to enable Campaign Management here.

  • log in to your Captivate dashboard
  • click Campaigns (under the Monetization section in the left hand menu)
  • click Offers

This is where you’ll find any pending offers from advertisers looking to place ads on your podcast. Click the title of the offer to view the full details.

Campaign Latest

  • Main details: this shows the details of the offer, including start date (and end date if applicable), budget for the ad, the amount you receive, the max impressions for the ad, and the position requested for the ad (pre roll, mid roll, or post roll).
  • Extras: this is the URL for the website the advertiser would like your audience to visit, and their call to action for the campaign (“enroll in a course”, “buy Product X”, etc)
  • Media: this is the audio file the advertiser would like you to run in the agreed ad slot

Original Offer

When you receive an offer from an advertiser, you can choose whether to accept the original, or negotiate with the advertiser on different campaign metrics like a different budget, or change the max impression count as an example. The new agreed offer will be shown in the Main Details section while the original offer will be displayed here. This is for quick easy reference should you need to check campaign details.

Withdraw Offer and Edit Campaign Offer

If this advertiser isn’t a fit, you can choose to withdraw the offer and it’ll be removed from your Offers section. Or, if you’re interested in working with the advertiser but you wanted to make some suggested changes, you can use the Edit Campaign Offer to make your suggestions.

When clicking this, a fly-out will appear and you can suggest edits to any or all of the campaign: run date, ad position, URL and call to action, budget, max impression count, calculated CPM, and campaign creatives.

Chat
With the Marketplace chat function, you and the advertiser can communicate directly and quickly. This can be to discuss campaign goals, ideas you might have for a more effective campaign, suggest changes, etc. This is accessible at any time - simply click the title of the campaign in the Offers section, or the Manage offer text to the right of the campaign name in the Active and Finished campaign tabs.

When you’re happy with the offer and campaign goals, click the Accept Offer button. This will display a pop-up, with an Insertion Order agreement between you and the advertiser, and includes both sets of contact information, the campaign overview and details, and additional terms an conditions for the campaign. You can either download as a PDF, or print for a hard copy. This can also be accessed at any time by viewing Campaign Documents under the Campaign Offer section for the campaign in question. Once you've reviewed the details, click “I Agree” to start the campaign. Once accepted, payment for the campaign will be added to your Captivate account, and you’ll receive an email confirming the acceptance of the offer in question.

Note: Marketplace is a beta release in the US initially, with more countries to follow in due course.
