How to Use Episode Planning with Spark AI

One of the hardest things to do when it comes to podcasting is come up with episode ideas, to help you plan ahead. And if you have guests on your show, then finding them and deciding what to ask can be tricky, too.

Not any more, thanks to Sparks AI’s awesome integration with our Episode Planning tool!

log in to your Captivate dashboard
click Episode Planning
click the drop down option next to Add Episode Idea
choose from Suggest New Episodes, Create from Prompt, or Manually Add New

Suggest New Episodes

Spark AI will analyze the last 30 days of your analytics, as well as the current trends online around your podcast’s topics, and then identify potential guest for your episode.

You’ll then be presented with three episode ideas, complete with episode title. Using one of the suggestions is super easy.

click the little eye icon to the right of the suggestion you want to use
this will open a fly out with the following suggestions: Title, Main Talking Points, Guest Suggestions, and Guest Questions

The great thing about the guest suggestions is Spark AI will share their online profiles (website, and social media), making it super easy to connect with them and invite on your show.

If you like the idea of this suggested episode, click the Edit Suggestion button at the bottom right of the fly out, and complete your episode idea as usual.

Create from Prompt

If you have an idea for an episode, use this option to:

advise Spark AI what topic you have in mind
some of the talking points you’d like to cover
any guests you’d like Spark AI to suggest, then
click Generate AI Episode Idea

Spark AI will then offer an episode idea with those talking points, and potential guests for that episode. If you’d like to use this suggestion, click Update Episode Idea.

Manually Add New

This will bypass Spark AI and let you create your own episode ideas, using the existing Episode Planning tools.
