Pricing for Apple HLS Video Podcasts

The Apple Podcasts HLS video feature is a video hosting add-on to your existing plan - here’s what that looks like.

• $12 per month per podcast (this includes up to 1,000 HLS downloads)
• Additional bandwidth costs are calculated based on length of video, file size, resolution, and the amount of additional “streams” via video plays on Apple Podcasts
• You are only charged bandwidth costs when the video version is played - the audio version is included in your existing monthly Captivate downloads allowance based on your plan
• Additional bandwidth charges only come into effect when you pass the included 1,000 HLS downloads
• invoicing is separate from your existing Captivate plan, with HLS billing being charged monthly for the previous month’s usage (when first activating, a pro-rated amount will be calculated and invoiced for the first month)
• You can use the HLS Cost Calculator in your Captivate dashboard when initially setting video up to calculate expected average costs each month

Note: if you run a network and wish to enable video podcasts, you will be responsible for the $12 per month per podcast (plus any additional bandwidth) costs for each podcast you enable. You will also need to ensure the podcasts are claimed under your Podcasts Connect account on Apple Podcasts.
