If you've moved to Captivate from another host, we make it super easy to import your podcast, as well as update your RSS feeds automatically with a 301 redirect, to make sure your move goes smoothly, both for you and your listeners.

While in most cases, a 301 redirect will automatically update your old RSS feed to your new Captivate feed, there are occasions where you may need to update this yourself, at least on Apple Podcasts and Spotify.

Thankfully, it's super easy, as this guide shows!

Note: Before you start, make sure to copy your Captivate RSS feed URL so you're ready to update it on each platform. In the top menu of your Captivate account you'll see the Copy Feed URL link. Click that and your Captivate RSS feed will be automatically copied to your clipboard.

Updating your RSS feed URL on Apple Podcasts

If you need to update your RSS feed on Apple Podcasts, follow these simple steps:

  • Log into your Podcast Connect account on Apple (this uses the same Apple ID you use for other Apple products and services).

  • Click on the image of your podcast.

  • In the Show Information section under RSS Feed, click Edit next to the URL.

  • Enter your Captivate RSS feed and make sure the RSS Feed Access is set to publicly available ***(unless it's a private podcast using Apple's Subscription service).***

  • Click Save

This will refresh Apple Podcasts with your new feed, and usually updates within 24 hours.

Updating your RSS feed URL on Spotify

if you need to update your RSS feed on Spotify, follow these simple steps:

  • Log into your Spotify account

  • Click on your show's artwork

  • Click on the Details tab.

  • Scroll down to the Podcast settings section.

  • Click the Update button.

  • Paste your Captivate RSS feed, and click Next.

  • Select Captivate from the podcast host dropdown.

  • Click Next.

  • Check that everything looks okay, and then click Submit.

This will refresh Spotify with your new feed, and usually updates within 24 hours.

Updating your RSS feed URL on TuneIn

If you need to update your RSS feed on TuneIn, follow these simple steps:

  • Open your podcast on TuneIn, and copy the show's ID number at the end of the URL. Your ID number starts with a 'p' (for example, p123456).

  • Open TuneIn's show update page and fill out the various details for your podcast, including your email, show name, ID number, your Captivate RSS feed, etc.

  • Unless you've updated your show's artwork, you can ignore the attachments upload option.

  • In the Comment box, advise that you've updated your feed to a new host, and you'd like TuneIn to update their feed information for your podcast.

  • Click the checkbox to accept the TuneIn Terms & Conditions.

Updating your RSS feed on Pandora

If you need to update your RSS feed on Pandora, you need to contact them directly with your Captivate RSS feed, and request they update your show settings with the new RSS feed. Once requested, you should hear back from them with a couple of days.
